It was recorded during her recent travels in Japan, and sees Rachael turn her hands to clarinet, piano, ukulele, banjo, thumb piano, organ, guitar, and percussion. This Friday is Rachael Dadd and Friends at Kings Place. Rachael will be joined by This Is The Kit, Rozi Plain, Wig Smith, Ichi, and Carrie Hitchcock. As if that weren't enough, there will also be live drawing from Louise Phillips, animation from Betsy Dadd, a mini-market, and all manor of other reasons to smile. All profits are to be split equally between the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal, and Nomadamura (an island community who are offering shelter and food for many families affected by the Tsunami).

The immensely talented Betsy Dadd has two amazing exhibitions on at the minute. The first - Weird Folk is at 65 Handbury St (E1). Her 2nd, Drawing-trick-blink, opens tonight at 92 Peckham Road (SE15) with live music soundtracking her awesome animations. A new exhibition featuring the works of Betsy Dadd will be running August 11th-September 11th at Flowers Gallery (21 Cork Street, London, W1S 3LZ. Because We Are Small also includes pieces by Jane Edden, Kleio Gizeli, and Tim Lewis. Betsy Dadd was responsible for the amazing hand painted animated video for her sister's (Rachael Dadd) song Table. You can see it here. Festivals update! Rachael Dadd will be playing at Glastonbury this year, as well as End Of The Road and South Street Arts Festival. Peggy Sue are confirmed to play at The Great Escape, Wood Festival, Dot To Dot, and Summer Sundae. Panama Kings will be at Junk Yard Festival, Take It To The Bridge, Rising Stars, and Indiependance. Also at this year's brilliant End Of The Road, are the mighty Forest Fire! Hurrah! There will be more festival announcements to come!

We're very happy to announce a second week-long exhibition of the Moth In The Motor Arts Project at The Foundry (Old Street), running from 16th-21st March. We'll be celebrating the opening there on the evening of Thursday 18th with incidental music from a very special lineup of Rachael Dadd, Tristram, The Mariner's Children (solo), and Jo Burke. Both the exhibition and opening event are free! Hurrah.

Rachael Dadd's new mini album Moth In The Motor, a collection of piano-based home and studio recordings is released today on 10" vinyl and digital! The limited edition (300 pressings) 10" vinyl comes in a hand-painted sleeve using a variety of linocuts created by Rachael herself. Every single sleeve will be different. The vinyl labels have also been hand painted, and every pressing is hand numbered. Even the sleeve material is handmade. Every pressing includes a free digital version of the album, a bonus track, and a gorgeous hand painted animation. You can order yours now by visiting our shop.

We're inviting creative hands around the country to create one-off sleeves for Rachael's 10". The designs will go on display at an exhibition next year, and all of the artwork will be available to buy, with all profits going to the artists involved. It doesn't stop there, we'll also be hand printing every single copy of this release using linocuts designed by Rachael herself. Very exciting times at Broken Sound! It is with immeasurable joy that we can announce the latest addition to our family, the mindblowingly wonderful Rachael Dadd. Rachael has been a favourite of ours since we first discovered her distinctive home brewed sounds a year ago. She's since joined us to play live for our podcast, a session which only further cemented our love for her.
